simply tweet accessories.

last night i dragged myself in the house late after a day of work followed by a dinner meeting with some lovely ladies from the junior league of the palm beaches at cafe sapori. i was ready to crash in bed when i saw my husband left a black box and fedex slip waiting on the stairs for me.

it was the personalized bauble bar necklace i had been waiting for! the little nameplate, or "twitter-plate" as they call it, is just as delightfully sweet as i'd expected it to be in rose gold. it features the account name for both the blog's instagram and twitter handles: @pretaporterpb.

want your own? bauble bar makes them in silver and yellow gold, in addition to the blush-colored version for $88. if you're new to bauble bar and want to save $10, you're in luck! just become a member by creating an account and they'll take $10 off your first order of accessories. there's lots of fun promotions and surprises in store as a member, so you won't regret it.

managing more than one account? even though i went with the bauble bar version, i was pretty close to purchasing survival of the hippest's "two-name tweetheart necklace," simply because i've accumulated quite a few twitter handles over the years and thought i might need a second line. if you're in the same boat, you may want to check out their options as well.

now i can't wait until the next tweetup! in the meantime, find me on twitter, instagram and pinterest to keep up with all the travels of this pretty little tweet-plate.

surprisingly stylish tweetup.

tweet tweet tweet.

no, that's not a little birdie in your ear, that was the sound coming from the clematis street tweetup last night, hosted at the brand new palm sugar by "a guy on clematis" the locally famous blogger for all things downtown. i attended with a friend/office vp, and all in all it was a good night with good people. i not only won the coveted sunfest tickets of the evening - and now need to narrow down whether i want to use them to see joan jett, passion pit (as long as i steer clear of the creed stage!!), snoop dogg or counting crows - but there was also some unexpected style in the crowd. on clematis? i should have seen it coming.

my co-worker, who is always on trend, not-so-surprisingly had on this cute blazer from anthropologie and nautical-themed pins to for an office-chic look, which i had to share. her cute heels added a nice finishing touch, but i didn't get the chance to snap a pic.

another fellow twitter user rocked this awesome set of seminole suspenders last night and i was a little envious of them. he told me his daughter is starting at fsu next fall so he had to represent. the "monday morning quarterback" in me needs to get a pair for next season's trips to tallahassee. paired with a plain white tee, some long & destroyed cuffed denim, and my new wannabe converse from h&m, i'll be all set to do the chop.

i like them for guys too, obviously, and can see one of the hundreds of preppy frat boys wearing them with their little bow ties and yellow chinos. i can't, however, see my black-wardrobed husband ever getting near these though.

other unexpected style of the night: i got to "tweet" a few new friends from downtown at the gardens and nordstrom rack in boca, plus we gave out a $25 gift card from my agency's client, cityplace (ok, that wasn't a surprise, but you get the idea!). can't wait until the next one!

'pretty little liars' trending in more ways than one.

aha! see, it's not just me (or my lovely past roommate who started my addiction). i just read on mashable that "pretty little liars" - which you may have recently read took the place of "gossip girl" in my heart - made twitter/tv history monday night. according to socialguide, 1.6 million tweets were sent by 667,000 users during the day leading up to the season 2 finale, with 50 something topics trending.

what do i want to see trending from the show? more of the cast's clothing. here are a few of my favorite looks from this season:

hannah's black blazer with white sleeves, paired with a sheer, hot pink bcbg maxi dress is at the top of my list. i really need to add this jacket to my wardrobe asap; i heard it's from h&m, which probably means it's long gone now. aria's pleated leather mini skirt from the same scene was one of my favorites too. i have a similar one in black from bcbg maxazria...too bad it's already in the upper 70s in florida so i won't get to wear it much longer!

aria's sheer slip-dress by pins and needles from urban outfitters. i just ordered a similar black skirt from brandy melville and can't wait to wear it!

spencer's to-die-for yellow dress from free people and "peter pan" collar necklace from bcbg.

aria's denim studded-sleeve dress.

aria's separate pieces were some of my favorites all through the season, but hannah's overall style is my favorite. spencer's clothes were certainly creeping up on me towards the end though, and emily always kept it casually cute with her baggy tees, leather jackets and boots. hopefully there's much more to come next season!

clothes for bros: wedding wear

i received this question on twitter today from @myPBC (follow me @pretaporterpb) and thought i would take to the blog to answer:
"question: wedding invitation says dressy/casual ? what is that? blazer with shorts no tie? thx"

short answer...i'm usually against shorts, unless it's a beach wedding, then we can potentially re-consider! and though i love love love caddy shack, i must also steer him away from going to rodney dangerfield's character for fashion advice. great idea for a themed party, but definitely do not wear this to a wedding!
long answer..."dressy/casual" and any attire ultimately depends on the location, time of year, time of day, and the couple getting married. if the couple has a wedding web site - on theknot.com, for instance - you may want to check it out to get a feel for their theme.
it's hard for men to go wrong with j.crew...

all that being said, i think for a dressy-casual wedding it's safe to go with a pair of khakis, a collared button-down shirt and tie. a good idea is to bring a blazer with you (navy is a good, casual color that goes well with khaki), which you can opt to wear or leave in the car once you get there if it looks like it's not necessary. if it's a beach wedding like many in palm beach county, go with sandals, but if it's anywhere else, go with a pair of casual dress shoes....and guys, remember, match your shoes and belt...no black with brown!

sweet tweets for summer treats

if you're not already on twitter, you probably should be. besides the addicting process of posting what you're wearing today in 140 characters and digitally stalking @heyismeashley or @officialchace, a handful of retailers, designers, daily newspapers and others are now announcing some fantastic giveaways through the site. some ask followers to retweet something or answer a question to win movie tickets or a free sample, but there are a few others that are really worth your time.

take
@rachelnasvik for example. through her twitter account and her simple, yet eye-catching "thrill of the chase" blog - http://www.wherethenighttakesyou.blogspot.com/ - the designer staged a pretty inventive campaign to put her name and handbags on the style map. over the course of a couple weeks in june, more than 90 of her limited edition, hand-printed alice bond bags were "lost" somewhere in nyc and clues on their whereabouts were then tweeted and blogged. bags were left in abandoned shopping carts at dean and deluca, on a hot dog cart, in club restrooms, on a subway car and even hanging in my nyc lodging of choice, the hudson hotel.

any lucky wanderer to engage in the bag hunt, whether on purpose or by accident, also found a note that read: "you did not find this bag; this bag found you," and became the rightful owner of the purse. the bags were stocked to prepare the "finder-keeper" for more than just a night on the town: a mix of tunes, bobby pins, tarot cards, lip gloss, matches and other - some unmentionable here - accessories added to the already-exciting find.

since we were not able to get our hands on the bags in palm beach county,
@cityplacewpb is giving away some sizzling summer swag closer to home. launched last week, cityplace is tweeting every wednesday between noon and 2 p.m. until july 22 with instructions for locals to win prizes from some of the area's hottest retailers. the first lucky follower to check in at the day's selected store and repeat the tweet will go home with something sweet.

last week's winner - who happened to be my friend chrissy! - arrived within six minutes of the tweet to receive $300 worth of laura mercier and issey miyake products from sephora, including a new summer fragrance and a nude color palette of bronzer, waterproof mascara, light mineral shadows and other makeup perfect for the sunny weather.

i hear that today's prize will be a victoria's secret bathing suit of choice, just in time for the fourth of july. but who will be today's winner...will it be you?

this is american idol! (in seacrest voice of course)

so of course the excitement was all about the music on last night's finale of american idol, and i'm happy kris allen won since i voted for him about 65 times the night before, but during the season i cared more about the style choices than the music. look below for the scoop on last night's outfits - or should i say costumes - and be sure to check out my twitter page at http://twitter.com/pretaporterpb for future updates like this!

* ugh the guys look horrible in all white on AI. especially adam. allison doesn't look so hot in her weird pleather zip-up trench either.

* kara looks awesome in her cute lbd and updo though...

* lil rounds looks great! i think she's had one of the best makeovers throughout all the AI seasons.

* liking anoop's jacket and the green boat shoes but def not with the rest of the outfit. like jason mraz in that hat though.

* fergie's body looks great and i love her dress!

* oooo and love the crazy black and white geometric back-up dancers for the black-eyed peas!

* i hate the bikini girl and her awful spray tan that match's paula's.

* kara looks great in a bikini though!

* who does adam's mom think she is with those wrist protectors?!

* those are the creepiest shoulder pads i've ever seen. please please please lose adam lambert. kris is so much better at dressing himself.

* @InStyledotcom i vote for kris! he always looks comfortable yet classy, & adam's mix of tight beetlejuice pants & leather creeps me out!

* megan joy is so cute, but that dress does not go with her tattoo.

* nicole richie looks cute in the audience of american idol with her braids. joel madden does not look cute with his bleached hair.
