coast to coast: brandy melville comes to florida ♥

holy heck. how did it take me more than a week to hear about this?! one of my favorite apparel brands has finally made it's way - first overseas, and then from the west coast - to the palm beaches...

so delicately described as "feminine with an urban twist," pacsun smartly saw the potential in brandy melville, which blends european flair with the hippie-chic california lifestyle, and is stocking it in stores as of july 31.

i've been pushing for a west palm beach location since i first spotted brandy melville in santa monica in 2011, and even though it's not an official shop, i cannot wait to head to the gardens mall and check out what they have in store now that it's here. does anyone know if bm is keeping the same one-size-fits-all and affordable options at pacsun too?

the only potential downside i see? i'm afraid my "secret" brand of choice will soon go mainstream in florida too (i know it's not the same level...but remember what happened to the old "surf" brand, mossimo??). even so, i still wish this pretty little company all the best on its new endeavor and am supremely stoked that it's here!

the world's most stylish soda.

marketing professionals everywhere are either applauding or gagging this week as jean paul gaultier was named diet coke's new creative director. it's not a first for the stylish soda, as karl lagerfeld and matthew williamson have both held the title before, and i think the seemingly over-caffeinated and creative designer is perfect for the role.
gaultier is not only taking over the reins in can and bottle design (noted by wwd). he is also playing a role in the marketing campaign, as shown in a video uploaded by diet coke last week... which i'm kind of surprised has only received 302 youtube views as of writing this post. the video is a bit strange with puppets and such, but i would expect no less from the avant-garde designer and i must admit i kind of liked it! here's a quick shot from the video to give you an idea:

i'm hoping for a white soda can in gaultier's signature stripes, but please, no aluminum dressed in cone-shaped bras a la madonna! what about you?

h&m jimmy choo ~ bless you!

so many of us shopaholics learned some thrilling news today - british brand jimmy choo and swedish retailer h&m are teaming up together. much more exciting than the miley cyrus/max azria collaboration announced earlier this month, i am definitely looking forward to some affordable jimmy choos, mainly because both parties involved are always at the top of their fashion game so you know it will be worth it.

we'll have to wait a bit to see the results - nov. 14 - but h&m's exclusive jimmy choo line will include shoes, handbags, accessories and even apparel. The clothing will be designed to compliment the accessories, rather than the natural other way around, which i am especially excited because that seems the be the way i think...half of my wardrobe is based around my ridiculous amount of shoes. the stylish man can also rejoice because the line will include men's shoes, bags and accessories - maybe something to share with your dad for father's day?

my one complaint - there still isn't an h&m in south florida! yes, i know we're getting one in orlando soon, but it's not the same. someone please fix this before nov. 14 so i can get me some choos.
